United Hoops 2029 - Eversoll had an excellent start to the season, finishing 4-0 at the Prep Girls Hoops Legacy Region Kickoff. In an impressive defensive effort, the team only allowed 78 total combined points in 4 games. They won their first game against Wisconsin Blaze - Red 52-18, shooting 50% from three. They were led in scoring by Nora Smith, with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 steals. London Furst also had 14 points and was 4/4 from three. Saylor Spielmann went 3/4 from three and added 9 points and had 3 assists. In the second game, they defeated Team Wisconsin CW 32-24. Nora Smith led the team with 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals. Elle Baker also contributed 5 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.
On Sunday, it was a slow start offensively in the first half, but they found a way in the second half. Nora Smith led scorers with 6 points, 4 points, and 3 blocks. Khloe Worden had 5 points, which all came late in the game to help secure the win. In the last game of the tournament, they started strong and never looked back, beating Together on 3 49-21. Nora Smith led with 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals. Elle Baker added 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 assists. Every player contributed in different ways in each win.
United Hoops 2027 - Eversoll went 2-2 this weekend at the Prep Girls Hoops Legacy Region Kickoff. On Saturday, they started strong in their first game of the season, beating Wiscosin Blizzard - Huray 55-35. Kennedy Crall led the team with 15 points and 4 rebounds. Brooke Deshong added 10 points and 9 rebounds. The team later lost to Opportunity 10 North 40-53. After starting slow and being down 2-17, Vienna Olson had an and-1 three pointer to get the team going and ended up being a competitive game. Brooke Deshong had 11 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals. Grace Warborg added 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals, and 2 assists.
On Sunday, United Hoops 2027 - Eversoll beat Wisconsin Academy 51-44. It was a back and forth game that was tied with under 1 minute left. Layla Kohl hit a 3 to take the lead, and Annabel Willenbucher finished the game with 2 free throws and a layup to seal the win. Grace Warborg (4 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 assists) and Annabel Willenbucher both had 12 points to lead the team in scoring. Brooke DeShong led in rebounds with 11, in addition to 3 assists. Later on Sunday, the team lost a physical game 38-42 to Illinois Evolution. Grace Warborg led the team with 10 points and 3 assists. Brooke DeShong (8 rebounds, 2 steals) and Kennedy Crall (4 rebounds, 3 steals) both added 9 points.
The 2031 team showed determination and grit in their first tournament, Prep Hoops Legacy Region Kickoff, finishing with a solid 2-2 record. The first two games of the year proved to be their only losses, by 2 and 4 points respectfully. After that, their teamwork, hustle, and growing confidence on the court were on full display, winning the last 2 games convincingly.
Over the 4 game stretch, they averaged 34.5 points and 16 steals per contest. Rilynn Paley and Josie Baker led the team in points with 27 and 25, while Paley and Mia Frodel pulled down 25 and 24 boards. Baker led the team with 19 steals, and Landry Anderson dished out 7 assists.
"We had most of the girls from last year return, and we have some new faces fitting in well" said Coach Baker. "Coach Dowden and I are excited to see what this group can do after they've have some more practice together"
The 2027 Seeman team started the Rock Spring Classic against Fundamental U - Grey and led a majority of the game building an 8 point lead in the second half before dropping the game 48-49 on a last second made 3. Reid Vacha had 13 points, 5 rebounds and an assist while Graham Musgrove added 12 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Game 2 was a 29-59 loss to WI Academy O'Hagan with Graham Musgrove leading the way with 13 points. Playing a 3rd game on Saturday against Wisconsin PHD, United battled throughout the game with it being as close as a 4 point deficit in the 2nd half before losing 50-69. Reid Vacha led a balanced offensive attack with 17 points and 4 rebounds, Graham Musgrove added 13 points and Evan Amundson had 9. The team returned on Sunday for its final game and faced JME-Monroe and lost 22-49. Brendan Teska led the team with 12 points and 8 rebounds.
2029 Kraus went 1-1 on Saturday, April 5th. The first game saw United lose 14-65 to an impressive WI Academy Slaby team. Greyson Coleman had 8 points and 6 rebounds to lead the team. United bounced back in Game 2 winning 40-30 over Team 1848. Cason Boudreau led the way with 10 points, adding 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Reid Tourangeau added 8 points, 3 rebounds, and an assist, Greyson Coleman had 7 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 assists.
On Sunday we were placed in the Championship Bracket and our first game was the semifinal vs WI Academy Deang. We lost 17-57 and struggled to handle the aggressive defense of our opponent. Reid Tourangeau led with 6 points while Cason Boudreau added 5 rebounds. We then lost the 3rd place game to MTXE Premier 25-67. Greyson Coleman scored 11 points and added 3 rebounds and Gov Wixom added 7 points. We struggled with the size and physicality of MTXE.
